Sarah's Story
Life
Well, I don't have any kids, but I do have Olliver, my dog - and a couple of cats. I am living at home with my parents right now while I finish up my schooling...
I am also the proud aunt of two little girls and one little boy... my sister and her husband had Olivia in Feb '05 and Luke in Mar '08; and my brother and his wife had Ezri in Nov '05. I really enjoy spoiling them!
School
Even though I completely enjoyed high school, I really do not think I would do it over. I have some of the best memories from everyone there... and am forever greateful for all the friendships that were made.
College
I am going to Liberty University Distance Learning Program...so I do all my classes on my own and don't ever have to go to class (which is nice since I live in Ohio and the college is in Virginia!)... I am scheduled to graduate in 2009...
Military
Joining the military was the best thing I could have done in my life. It gave me direction, and the ability to find out so much more about myself. Basic Training at Lackland AFB, TX was honestly something I will never forget; especially the confidence course - it does just that! e same... it was forever changed!
Then I got my first assignment at the end of schooling... I was headed to Spangdahlem AB, Germany! Yes - I was going overseas! I couldn't believe it. And that was the best assignment - I met so many wonderful people who helped get my career off on the right foot. Not to mention the travel over there was great!
But, after 2 years it was time to move on... and I got an assignment to the Pentagon in Washington DC (well, it is technically in Arlington, VA). I couldn't believe I was about to work at the Pentagon! (I remember driving by it on our 8th grade class trip and thinking it was such an interesting building... now I am in it everyday - my how things change!) After 18 months I decided it is time for me to move on.
On my 4 year mark in the AF I decided instead of reenlisting for another 4, I was going to transfer into the Ohio Air National Guard. So I moved home last summer to Mansfield, Ohio - back in with my parents - and working with the Guard and going to school.
Since joining the ANG I have been deployed to Qatar (Jul-Sep '06) and Afghanistan (Nov07-Jan08). On top of these deployments I have also been TDY numerous times - too many to put on here! I am now preparing for my third deployment in the summer of 2009... looks like I will be gone for 4 months...
