Sarah's Story
Life
I graduated with an art degree. I have two cats (Sam and Mary). I like to knit, crotchet, read, travel and do volunteer work.
School
In school I mostly hung around with Glenda Gonzalez and Emily McQueen. For the most part everyone else ignored us. I didn't do much in high school. It wasn't hard to get good grades there. My favorite class was art, obviously. After that, band. I would do everything exactly the same if I had to do it over. I had an awesome time. I especially liked to hang out with Abe Lincoln at lunch.
College
I started out at Illinois State Univ. I loved the little town of Normal and used to walk down to see foreign and old movies every week. My roommates sucked and when I got a single room, my neighbors sucked. It was too much of a party school so I transferred to Northern. The education was a little sub-par at Northern but I had a good time. I didn't learn much but I have a degree. I'm thinking of going back to school to get another one. Not at Northern, though. I had a lot of awesome roommates at NIU that I still talk to today even though non...Expand for more
e of them live that close.
Workplace
Right after college I did an internship at Farm Sanctuary in New York taking care of chickens left to die during Hurricane Katrina. It was the most rewarding experience of my life. For pretty much all of 2006, I traveled. No where really interesting. I went to Las Vegas and stayed in the Venetian with a few friends. I went to New York a few times to see my chickens. I spent June-December training for a marathon with the AIDS Marathon Training Program. I raised $3400 for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and they flew me out to Hawaii to run the Honolulu Marathon. I stayed in an awesome hotel right across from Waikiki Beach. It was so beautiful and the weather was perfect. As for actual work, I've just been doing odd work here and there to get money for bills and travel. Right now I'm trying to decide what to do.. if I should try the teaching thing (not too appealing), go back to school (take too long) or just try to get some sort of government job (boring). The other option is Au Pair in Europe. And travel, travel, travel. Who knows?
