Scherri's Story
I relocated to Tucson Arizona in 2002. I now work at a major health care facility as the assistant to the facilities manager...I love my job and my coworkers. I am five classes shy of my degree in Computer Information Systems, which has taken me to where I am today. I also have been studying to get my Master Herbalist degree as well. I don't think I will ever come back to Indiana to live. I really love the life I have created here in AZ and absolutely love the fact that I don't have to shovel snow!
I loved growing up in a small town and raising my kids there was great as well but life sometimes does not alway give us what we want and I needed change and opportunity that I could not find in Lafayette at the time I needed it. I've been in Tucson for over ten years now! I started out as a basic clerical worker and now am the office manager and Assistant to the Facilites Manager! I also set up all online order accounts for our medical and office supples for new users and train all of them, so I guess I am working my way up the corporat...Expand for more
e ladder so to speak! I love the diversity of what I do and the training and teaching are my favorite aspects of my job.
I have rekindled my interest in soap making and have many repeat customers now! I just recently learned the fine art of wire wrapping and beading my own jewelry. I love this new hobby and have actually designed a few very nice pieces for a few special people! It is fun, very rewarding to receive a nice compliment on one of my designs and of course I actually make money at this hobby! So that is a good thing...My new boss wants me to go back to school and finish what I started...So I have switched gears a bit and have decided I really like purchasing and all the details of that sort of job, so I am working on my degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management...will have my liberal arts degree by next semester but I feel I need the credentials to back up my experience.
Sit on a beach and watch the waves with a good bottle of Cabernet is my favorite way to unwind! unfortunately there isn't much water in the desert
