Scott's Story
After graduating from Spring-Ford HS in 2000, I attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, PA. While in college, I met my wife, Jamie. We were married in June 2005. During the summers of 2002 and 2003, I marched with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps and won a Drum Corps International World Championship. I graduated from IUP in December 2004 with a B.S. in Music Education. I then taught as a long-term music substitute at Kiski Area High School in Vandergrift, PA before enlisting in the U.S. Army in June 2005. After basic and advanced training, I reported to my unit, the 282nd Army Band in Columbia, SC.

rmy, I've had many outstanding experiences. I attended Airborne School in 2006 and earned my jump wings. I also performed a tandem jump with the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights. In 2007, I was promoted to Sergeant, named Ft. Jackson's Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, and was the drum major for a basic training graduation ceremony where President Bush was the guest speaker. In 2009 I will be reporting to the "Land of the Morning Calm", Korea.
My wife, Jamie, is a doctoral candidate at the University of South Carolina. Thus, she wins nearly all of our arguments. We currently reside in Columbia, SC with two dogs and two cats.
