Scott's Story
Married 51 years to Margarita Mercedes Cepeda. Margie is from the Dominican Republic, and we met while we were both in the Air Force. A daughter Tanya, who is a professional chef. A son Richard, a teacher at Berkeley HS, in Berkeley, Ca. Tanya has two boys, Jeremy and Matthew and Richard has one son Henry.
I spent two tours in the Air Force and flew all over the world as the Flight Engineer on the C141 Starlifter, out of Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield CA. Spent the next 10 years with General Electric Credit Corp. as the Accounts Analyst for Northern Calif. and then with GE Leasing as the Account Rep. for the North Western US. I spent the rest of my career in the auto business, not surprising since the Class Prophecy had me "selling VW cars in 40 years across the street". I spent most of my time as a Finance Director for the John L Sullivan Automotive Group in Roseville CA. I spent the final 12 years of my career as the Group's Systems Administer (IT Director).
Many hobbies over the years, but now we just enjoy camping with friends and visiting the kids and babysitting the grandkids. We have always had an RV of some type, which makes camping nice and comfortable (the only way Margie will camp). We to...Expand for more
ok 5 weeks in the summer of 2014, for a cross-country trip for the 50th class reunion in Waterford CT. We hit 39 states and Canada. We also love to cruise. In the fall of 2015 we went to Spain for a week, then on a 12-day Mediterranean cruise, then finished with a week in Venice. At home, I love to build really top end remote control cars and trucks as a hobby. I really don't run them much myself, but the grandkids can't wait to get their hands on them.
Any of you who enjoy cooking and watching the Food Network might have seen our daughter (Tanya Rogow) on TV. She spent some time on that show in New York, and some of the top named chefs she meet there, who will now call her to help them at their events when they come to the Bay Area (Bobby Flay during a "Throw Down" in San Francisco and Emeril Lagasse when he was on his nationwide tour a few years ago). Our son Richard gets the chance to travel as well. One of his benefits, as the Art History instructor at Berkeley, is to take his students on trips to visit art museums in places like France and Italy.
In May 2010, we bought our final home in the "Rossmoor" retirement community in Walnut Creek, Ca. We spend most of our time babysitting our grandkids.
