Scott's Story
Life
After changing schools and majors twice, I finally graduated from Cleveland State with an engineering degree in 98. I got married in 99 to a great friend I met at Toledo, Jen (Dennie). Our first son, Brendan, was born in June of 2003, and our second son, Evan, was born last July (2006).
College
In the fall of 91, I started the electrical engineering program at Toledo. For whatever reason, it just didn't click. After moving back home, and spending some time exploring other fields, I ended up discovering industrial engineering, and the outstanding program at Cleveland State, transferring there in January of 97. After I finished in June of 98, I started my master's degree part time, while working, again at CSU. I finished my master's of science in IE in late 99, early 2000 (my degree says May, 2000, but I was done in December 99). After that is a long break, but I finally started my Doctor of Engineering program, part time, at CSU during the Fall of 2005. I should finish my dissertation by next year. After that? Maybe a degree in history. What can I say? I love learning new stuff!
Workplace

the Eltech Research facility in Fairport before transferring into CSU, Jan 97. I ran a small coating lab and did a lot of experimental design and analysis.
After starting at CSU, I began doing manufacturing and process improvement consulting by the summer of 97. When I graduated, I went to work full time for a local consulting firm. I got into Six Sigma, and even began running corporate training program in that topic.
In late 2001, I started at Cleveland State as a staff engineer and consultant. I was focused on aerospace technologies (CSU Center for Research in Electronics & Aerospace Technologies - CREATE), as well as my own research into viable renewable energy architectures (CSU's Industrial Space Systems Lab - ISSL).
As of December of 2007, I am now working for a company called the Analex Corporation, part of QinetiQ North America's Mission Solutions Group, right at the NASA Glenn Research Center. I am supporting the systems engineering & integration work on the Crew Module of the Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle, which will replace the shuttle in 2013, take us to the moon by 2018 and hopefully beyond.
