Scott's Story

I would like to start off by saying--I never attended El Toro High School! I attended manual High School here in Denver, Colorado. Go Thunderbolts! I will have to find out what El Toro's mascot is. But someone set this profile up, identifying me as an alumnus of a school I never attended (El Toro). I have even been invited to attend a reunion. Weird. I did attend Gates, Olivewood, and Aliso elementary schools (without moving once--those who were there will remember that they kept building new schools closer to us). I also attended Los Alisos Junior High School. In early 1974, my parents moved to Denver, Colorado, while I was still in 8th grade. I spent the rest of the year at Gove Junior High here in Denver. The next year, I attended Hill Junior High School in Denver, because Jr highs were 7th-9th grade here at the time. I attended Denver Manual High School , graduating in 1978. I also took classes at Denver East and the Career Education Center. While still in High School, I started preparing tax returns. After some years flailing about as first a medical assistant and later an electrical engineer, I went into business as a tax professional. That was in 1996. I am an Enrolled Agent and Registered Financial Consultant. While I still prepare some tax returns, my main line of business is IRS representation, mostly audit defense and collections resolution. I have been married to my wife, Erin, since 1985. We met at Gove Jr H...Expand for more
igh just a few weeks after my parents moved here (Denver) from CA. We never had any children, and have no regrets there. I have a number of various and sometimes odd interests. We love to travel, and will stop at just about any museum. We're both history, art and culture nuts. We go to a lot of theater and concerts. We've seen just about every sort of musical act there is, from Neil Diamond to the Dead Kennedys. We once went to the Netherlands to see Golden Earring, thus mixing two of our great passions (music and travel). I love aquaria, and design and build aquarium lighting and ornaments, including lighted ornaments. I also repair and recondition pinball machines. My greatest love (other than Erin) remains music. I play guitar and ukulele, neither of them very well, but I enjoy it immensely. Being a natural tinker, I also repair and customize stringed instruments as well. I'm currently in the process of building a tenor guitar (4 string) from the remains of an old Kay six string, using both legacy and custom built (by me) parts. I have also been a cannabis (marijuana to any prohibitionists reading this) legalization activist since 1975. We scored something of a major victory here in Colorado last year, as well as in 1975 (decriminalization) and 2000 (medical use--important to me, since I have epilepsy). I would like to say this to the person who originally created this profile without my knowledge or permission--WTF?
