Scott Lunsford:  

Catching up with Scott¿ the story. After graduating FLHS (75) it was off to FSU with roommate ¿Bull¿ Bob Lyons. I had 4 great years in Tallahassee and for all the partying came away with a degree in Criminology (79). I had decided while at FLHS to be a cop, hence nickname Kojak. Came home to Wilton Manors planning to marry high school sweetheart Laura Kane, only to have my heart broken <boo hoo>. I moped around for a few months feeling sorry for myself and then finally got busy and got a job with Delray Beach PD, March 1980. Did the typical cop thing and in 1982 married a waitress about the same time I made detective. Daughter Alyson was born in 1983 and I made Sergeant in 1984 so back to road patrol. Daughter Elaine came along in 1985 and then son Charlie in 1987. In 1988 I made Lieutenant and wound up running Internal Affairs (no fun). In 1990 I was almost promoted to Captain when an unexpected opening came up due to a suicide. I then remembered that one of the reasons I wanted to be a cop was to not get locked into an office and I haven¿t taken a promotional exam since. I have had a great time in my career as a result! I headed up our ¿Community Policing¿ initiatives back in the early 90¿s and saw a lot of changes in our City. The latter part of the 90¿s I ran our Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Section (that was a lot of fun). Still had that job on 9-11 and as part of the Intelligence function spent some time in DC and headed our Departments efforts with the initiation of Florida¿s Regional Domestic Security Tasks Force system.
