Scott's Story
Workplace
After getting out of the Navy, I went on unemployment for about a month. I then got a job working at Big O tires as a tire tech. I thought it would be like working on airplanes, but was badly mistaken. After Sep 11, 2001 I got a job working airport security at John Wayne airport. I then found out that the government was taking it over so I applied the first day they were accepting applications. I got hired as a Supervisor traveling around the country and converting all the airports. It was cool being one of the first 250 people hired out of now over 45,000 strong. After traveling around the country for 7 months, I came home to John Wayne airport and got promoted to Screening Manager, which is where I sit now.

Military
I joined the US Navy in April of 1995. I went to boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. Then went to my "A" school in Millington, TN. After "A" school, I got stationed in Alameda, Ca in a Helicopter squadron (HM-15 Helmineron 15). It is a mine countermeasures squadron. They fly MH-53E's. The squadron got re-located to Corpus Christi, Tx. I was stationed there the rest of my first tour. I then re-enlisted and went to New Orleans Naval Air Station in Louisiana. I worked in what they call the Transient Line. Fueled and serviced all kinds of aircraft. My job title was an Aviation Machinist's Mate (Aircraft Engine Mechanic). I was then diagnosed with Epilepsy and got out on a medical retirement after 6yrs 4months.
