Scott's Story

Life Updated 2018.01.26 (Yikes, I'm going to be 60 next week. Somehow figured I'd never make it this far) Got married in 1979 the first time to a woman from Tumwater. Had 2 sons with her, Matt 1980 (I was 21, she was 22) and Charlie 1983. Got divorced December 31, 1985. Matt and Charlie are great and I love them bunches. Sorry I screwed it up for them by marrying the wrong woman. I dated a bunch after that and learned what to look for and what to look out for. Definitely the wrong time to learn that lesson. (Matt got married 2 years ago, I'm a grandpa now. Another thing I never really expected) Messed up my back and had a spinal fusion in 1986. My doctor says I have the best results from back surgery he's ever seen. It doesn't slow me down much now. (ended up having 3 more, 1 in 2013, 2016 and 2017, it got bad but now it's not. No more lugging sound gear but, I'm still able to fly my models) Married to Daralee Owens from Snohomish we've been happily married since 1988. We have twins born in April of 04 growing like weeds. Being a dad again is the most joyful and wondrous thing. It's so much better having kids when your not struggling financially. They were born in Seattle, but then spent their first year in California. We moved back to Washington in 2005 after 15 years of traveling around the country. ( I've been to 42 states and 8 countries in Europe, Asia and the Caribbean) I've been working as a contra...Expand for more
ct engineer and we've lived in Washington, California, Kansas, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Texas. (no longer working as a contractor, Boeing made me a better offer as a composites manufacturing wizard on the 787) I still play music I love playing bass, cello, violin, guitar, and banjo. I still do a very limited amount of sound work for a couple of bands and clubs. I have way too much gear and one of these days will have to have a huge garage sale! (June of 2017, got broken into and lost most of my PA gear. My instruments were'nt there so I still have and play them, now if I do sound it's setup by another pro audio company and I run the sound during the show) I also still enjoy flying competition aeromodels and have traveled to Asia and Europe pursuing flying them. Not much time to play with them since the twins but I spend time playing when I can. I've held many national and regional competition records as well as being a columnist for the national AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) magazine Model Aviation. My teenage nemesis of gardening has become a joy to work and play in the garden. Daralee and I have won many ribbons with our daylilies and Daffodils. The new house has about a half acre and we are working on the grass eradication program and replacing it with flower beds. (Add another new house, fell into an amazing opportunity to buy a house on Echo Lake near Maltby. I absolutely love being here)
