Scott's Story
Let's see....time has flown by so fast. It's incredible isn't it, it still seems like yesterday for some high school experiences/things, others do seem like decades away.
I'd have to say I wouldn't have changed anything so far, it's all been part of the learning/journey.
As far as life goes, I started the parenting thing late (something I thought I would never be, an old dad). I have two sons'; Nicolas, who's 6 year old, and Evan, who is 5. They are a big part of our routine these days, thus pop's up first in this "update".
My wife Patty and I have been married for almost 8 years. Everything's going as planned.... I suppose; busy, crazy, occasional worries etc, what everyone goes through with kids.
As far as career goes, I've been doing what I always liked to do and did in high school; drawing, designing etc. I have worked for drafting/engineering companies since co-op. It hasn't felt like I should be getting paid for doing what I've always wanted to do.....I can not complain a bit.
I got my MBA from the University of Michigan (GO BLUE!) while at General Motors, a...Expand for more
nd they have sent me on some assignments on the business end throughout my career with them.
I am currently working back on the creative side of things, working with all of our global counterparts and enjoying that aspect of it. (GM has Engineering Centers in Australia, Germany, Sweden, India, Korea, Brazil and Mexico) and with the IT world everyone is just a call or net-meeting away.
Obviously the "Global" economy has had a major affect on our domestic car companies. Lots of stuff going on there, lot's to watch out for, lots to plan for, but I'm trying to control what I can control and be prepared the best I can for an ever changing world.
I miss the simple days of high school, no cell phones, no end to the possibilities, no real responsibilities. I miss the classmates and even most of the teachers..... now we're all older than most of our teachers were! I wonder about everyone now and then; drafting buddies, track buddies, burnouts, jocks, the clicks, the non-clicks.
btw, are there any plans for a reunion?....anybody, anybody?
That's it; I hope this all fits....
