Scott's Story
After High School, I joined the Marine Corps. My first duty station was Okinawa Japan from Jan 1987 until Jan 1988. From there I went to Camp Lejeune, NC from Jan 1988 until Oct 1994. I met my wife, Janet there and got married on 27 Dec 1988. She is East Indian from Guyana, South America. We had our first child, Amber, on 22 Nov 1989. In Jan 1993, I served on the USS WASP for a six month deployment. We conducted numerous missions and went to Spain, France, Italy, Israel, Somalia, Bosnia, Kuwait, and numerous other countries. Our second daughter, Ashley, was born while I was deployed to Somalia. She was five months old when I first met her. er six months in the Mediterranean Sea. In October 1994, I received orders to report to Camp Pendleton, CA where I stayed until October 1998. Our third daughter, Savannah, was born in Jun 1996. In Oct 1998, I was reassigned to the Marine Corps University in Quantico, VA where I stayed until Feb 2001. After that, I went to Washington, D.C. where I served as a budget analyst for the Defense Human Resources Activty. My last duty station was Okinawa Japan. I retired from the Marine Corps in October 2006 and started working for the Defense Civilian Personnel Management Service where I continue to work presently. My position there is a Management Analyst with my main responsibilities deal with acquisitions. I miss New England and plan to move back in about two years.
