Scott's Story
Life
Well after the 8th grade at jefferson middle school, I applied to transfer from douglass to grant which i am not sure waht happened with that but the end result was that i never went to "high school" so in 1991 i went off to Job Corps... which was ok but even though i tested out of education in exactly 4 days they wouldn't let me complete to get my high school diploma ( they were acreddited as BOTH a high school AND a junio college) so i finally just quit thinking who needs it! Came back to the OKC area rebellious against the world and worked jobs that in some cases would only last a month or 2...Finally at the age of 19 my older sister drags me down to her house in florida which is where i guess i finally grew up. I lived in florida for about a year but oklahoma was home to me so i hopped on a greyhound in the middle of the night and headed home. still I made a few mistakes over the next few years but in the end i got my head on straight. I found religion and found out that that wild imagination that i had when i was younger could be put to a PRACTICAL use so now every week i write an e-zine called "simply romantic" where i give advice on relationships and a weekly tip on how to be more romantic. I married in 2001 but divorced in 2003... no children which although i adore kids i am glad that i didn't have any in the marriage as that would have made it almost impossible for me to walk away...
School
What can i say about school? I hated it! but looking back i realize that it was just one of the many trials we face in this journey we call life. there were several people from my school days that left a LASTING impact on my life... too many to name but i hope one to find everyone of them if nothing else just to say "thank you" you know i used to try to write songs to impress my female classmates ( yeah you guessed right i was dateless in school) but sitting in church one day waiting for the service to begin... I wrote this verse:
Looking back from were I stand tonight
I Wouldn't change a thing about my life.
Wrong turnes I had to take back in those crazy years.
Could not have been mistakes if they have brought me here.
Cuz all my roads have led me to this night, dear lord I share with you
and though the road was never smooth, life has made me someone who..
gives up his will to follow you.
and i think what i was REALLY saying was that everything that we have ever done in the past... everyone person who has come and gone from our lives........ they all have played a role in leading us to be who we are today.... it was only when i realized that that i actually began to like who i am.... some of you may remember me as just a lost soul who could never simply be himself.... you are those EXACT people i want to say thank you too... the things that you've all done and said to me has driven me to become the man i am today. I could never have done this on my own.
College
treasure lake Job corps as it was called then! or as we called it the " treasure lake federal penetientary" was not really a college more of a VO-TECH ...Expand for more
but still it was the begiining of my transformation from JACK ASS to HUMAN BEING so i guess there was some good that came out of that place
Workplace
oh yes now here is where the little boy everyone hated became the man that many people respect! Kind of funny to think that this state gave ME a license to wear a badge..... guess they didn't know what kind of student i was! but anyway they let me wear a badge and be a security officer which was a lot of fun ( didn't pay a lot but still) I remember working the entrance gate to an apartment complex and meeting up with my 8th grade history teacher... then there were a few celebrities i met, some i even had altercations with... like the night i stood backstage at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, OKlahoma and told country singer Bryan WHite that he was nothing more than a Putnam City Pansy... or the night at the Flying J truckstop out on interstate 40 and Morgan Road when i stood a few feet from the door of a tour bus chasing off an obnoxious fan, and calling Tim McGraw a jack ass ( hey i am still mad at him for taking faith hill away from me)... then later i tried owning my own security company but we ended up having a partnership dispute so i got out of it... but while i was there i got a call one night that there was a problem at one of the sites... I get there and it seems Kenny Chesney is being a jack ass to one of my female officers it seems she told him that he could not wander the premises of the Lloyd Noble with a beer in his hand and he was saying " I am Kenny Chesney, Country Entertainer I can do what I want" so I said "you can stagger your drunk carcass back on to your bus and don't let me see your little beady eyes ever again or I can take you down slap some handcuffs on you and send you on merry little way to jail... but i'm sorry there is no third way out" he is like do you people even know that I can call your company and have the owners fire you or do you even know who i am" I said " first of all yes i do realize that a few hours ago you were in there on that stage and that your name is Kenny Chesney, Secondly you want to talk to the owner of this company look right here in my eyes because you ALREADY ARE! last but definitely not least... your name might be Kenny Chesney but right now you are just a publicly intoxicated drunk jack ass and public intoxication is against the law so i am going to give you 5 seconds to start moving towards your tour bus, if you are still standing here 5 seconds from the time i stop speaking than ( i grabbed my cuffs) you might be a little late to your next show" ever seen a drunk trying to run....now THAT was hilarious!!!!!!!! left the security industry in 2004 and worked at wal mart til they proved that they don't give a dam about customers only the money they get from customers... sorry sam walton but your kids are little jack asses. went to work at albertson's after that but couldn't live on the crappy wages they paid so now i work for the university of oklahoma.
i blow off steam by blogging or relax by playing a video game
