Scott's Story
1. Twice married and divorced. Maiden names – Shonnie Olson of 5 years (Augusta grad) and Robin Johnson of 18 years (Osseo Grad). Thomas and Barbara Rugotzke (parents) and Leta and Kelly Rugotzke (sisters).
2. Graduate of Augusta High – 1989.
a. You know the history there.
b. Highlights included summers in MT for 5 summers. Football captain, Prom King, Homecoming selection.
3. Played bass and keyboard (when needed) for Bias Authority until Jan 1993.
4. Batchelor of Science – UW Stout in Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering.
5. Started at Ashley Furniture Industries as Project Engineer, Dec 1993.
a. Worked my way up to Sr. Director of Operations for US Factories.
b. Much travel (nearly weekly across US, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
c. Resigned after 22 years.
6. While at Ashley I received my:
a. Master of Science – Cardinal Stritch University in Management and Business Administration. GPA 3.98/4.0
b. Continuous Improvement Certificate at Iowa St. University.
c. Lean Certificate at US-Stout.
d. Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate at Villanova University.
7. Started high-end modern and contemporary furniture retail LLC brick and mortar and on-line business, Urban Galleria, in Eau Claire, WI.
a. Imported containers from Asia, mostly Taiwan.
8. Started consulting business, CIL Consulting LLC.
a. Traveled for projects in United States.
9. Hired as Sr. Vice President of Operations at Ameriwood Industries, a Dorel Company.
a. Moved to St. Louis to headquarters, responsible for St. Louis Engineering, testing, procurement/purchasing in St. Louis.

c. Moved around a lot depending on needs – MO, MI, IN,
d. Responsible for all factories in Vietnam, China and Malaysia sourcing offices, testing labs and factories thought the countries
e. Resigned after three years to pursue CIL LLC consulting business.
10. CIL Consulting LLC.
a. Various projects throughout US, Canada and Asia.
b. Turnaround projects for furniture manufactures, commercial office business, architectural business and component manufactures.
c. Did a factory start up for a kayak factory in Atlanta for the world’s largest small boat manufacturer.
11. Hired on Consulting contract for Whalen Furniture as Head of Quality/Engineering for Asia offices, testing labs and factories. A Canadian based company with manufacturing and offices in China, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Moved to China for 6 months traveling frequently (nearly weekly) to Vietnam and Malaysia.
12. Moved to Montana to turn around Rugotzke Ranch, as Managing Partner.
13. Hired of Head of Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Innovation for China and Vietnam. Moved to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam for over one year. Canada based company with offices, testing labs and manufacturing factories in China and Vietnam. Lighting, smart-plumbing (tubs, showers, toilets, and vanities).
a. In Covid “lock-down” for 3 months so moved back to US.
14. Working on Ranch Management duties and various consulting projects.
15. Moving to MT early June 2022 to run Rugotzke Ranch full time as Managing Partner and travel from airports there for consulting projects.
