Scott's Story
Life
I moved to Fla. at the end of my junior year at EWHS. Finished high school at Washington High in Pensacola. After High school I went to Pensacola Junior College part time for a few years before I decided to go full time and majored in Aviation Maintenance Technology. Graduated from College in 1989. I also joined the USAFR in 1983 and flew on AC130 Gunships as an Aerial Gunner for 10 years. I was called to active duty for Desert Storm (in 1991), and flew on a number of combat missions during the war. At the time I was activated for Desert Storm I was working for the Navy (civil service) as an Aircraft mechanic. When I returned home from Desert Storm I changed jobs and started working at Delta Airlines in Atlanta Ga. I worked for them for 15 years in various jobs, including Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Inspector, NDT Inspector and Quality Assurance Specialist (responsible for Quality oversight, to ensure compliance to Federal regulations). In August of 2006 I decided it was time for a change (got tired of working for a bankrupt airline), and left Delta to go work for Gulfstream Aerospace (in Savannah, GA) as a Quality Engineer. Now for the good stuff....While I was in the USAFR I had the opportunity to travel fo...Expand for more
r airshows (to show our airplane and tell of its mission), and one of the airshows I went to was in England (in 1987). While there I met my future wife (Michelle), who was working for one of the main companies that sponsored the airshow. We carried on a long distance relationship for two years and in 1989 I married Michelle. We now have three children - Timmy (15), Rachel (11), and Katie (10).
(11/11/08) I thought I would also provide some info on my main hobby which is drumming. I started playing when I was 13, but didn't get serious about until my early 20's when I played with a few different rock bands. I quit for a while in the mid nineties and was persuaded by our church music minister to start playing again (which I did in 2001). Before leaving Atlanta in 2006, I was playing in Christian rock/praise band for about 5 years. Some of the highlights from that experience include playing for a super WOW event (for approx. 10-15 local church youth groups), playing for a Relay for Life event at the Atlanta Motor Speedway (2004) and regularly playing for different youth groups both at our church and others as a part of the Worship service. I am currently trying to form a praise band at our new church here in Savannah.
