Sean's Story

Life It's been an interesting life. After graduating high school, I attended Cal Poly for three years, where I lived in the dorms and was active in politics. I did advance work on the 1992 Bush campaign, worked on a US Senate campaign, and was involved in the 1992 Republican Nat'l Convention. Perhaps the most interesting thing that became of my political activism was a few appearance on MTV, including Choose or Lose and the Year in Rock. Aside from my political work, I kept involved in school "politics" (Senator-at-large, president of Interhall Council, etc.), which I really enjoyed. I was also active on the forensics team (debate) and the National Model United Nations, among other things. After Cal Poly, I studied for a year at the University of Bristol, England. While at Bristol, I continued my involvement in model United Nations activities both in England and Ireland. I also took advantage of my time in England to use it as a springboard not just to travel the country, but the rest of Europe. I spent several months traveling the continent by train, from Madrid to Moscow and most tourist traps in between. This led to some interesting events. I was arrested in a country called Belarus. I had some interactions with the Russian mafia in Lithuania. I was chased through the streets of St. Petersberg. Since then, travel has become my greatest passion, having made my way through the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Morocco, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, ...Expand for more
Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, and Canada. My ultimate goal is to see Nepal and Tibet. After college, I attended Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, California. My first year was, like all other first year law students, all studying. My second year I was accepted on to the Law Review, which occupied much of my time. I published an article during that year which won some awards and was listed as recommended reading by the National Law Journal. My third year was perhaps my most interesting. During that year, I took a leadership role on the Law Review, as Associate Editor. I also served as president of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Fraternity and spent half of that year in San Francisco, where I externed for California Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald George. In 1997, I graduated from Pepperdine Law, passed the bar exam, and began practicing law. I've worked at a few different law firms since then. For a few years (and at the time of the 2000 reunion), I was living in the Hollywood Hills and working in downtown Los Angeles as outside trial counsel for Pepsi-Cola in Southern California, handling all of their litigation in LA, OC, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. In 2002, I moved to Orange County and now practice at the Orange County office of a large San Francisco-based law firm. Generally I represent European insurers in insurance coverage matters.
