Severine's Story
After graduating from college with a degree in technical theatre and business administration, went on to grad school. Did an internship at a Broadway theatre in NYC. Worked in theatre for a bit, then transitioned to the corporate world and got into consulting and conference planning for the Department of Defense, working at the Pentagon level with all branches of the Armed Forces. Worked on health policy, specifically preventive medicine and mental health with a primary focus on suicide prevention. Conference for 5+ years and supported two Congressionally-mandated Task Forces (on Mental Health and on Suicide Prevention) with multiple meetings worldwide. Due to Department budget cuts and leadership changes, contract work in these areas largely disappeared, and government conferences became forbidden. Am now the Executive Director for a non-profit association comprised mostly of university professors of political science and psychology, which has one big international conference each year. Married and living in our dream house in the mountains with three cats.
