shannon's Story
My story is long, but I will keep it brief.
Married at age 24 to Anthony Warn- remained good friends, but divoriced in 2000. Met my sons father, had Forest Robert in 2001. We have joint custody of our wonderful son, even though we never married or stayed together.
Careers- Studied esthetics and became a NJ state licensed esthetician for the past 13 years. I worked in spas from 1999 until 2009. I became bored and wanted to do something else, so I studied medical assisting. I became a certified medical assistant after two years of study and externship, then I hated it. I do not work in the medical field, nor do I ever want to.
What do I do now? I left good paying jobs to play bingo, watch movies, do crafts and drive residents to special trips. Think I am crazy? I work as an activities assistant, and I have the most important job on this earth. I care for the elderl...Expand for more
y, and I am very good at it. I love working with the dementia residents, which takes alot of patience. I have found my 'thing' in life. I am back in school studying to become a director. It's not easy especially at this stage in our lives. I have many, many papers to write, I am on my last year of study and almost at 6000 hours of required time!. I will have another Alzheimers course after this and then I will be certified to be a director of activities. I always tell my son that your never too old to learn- I hope this is my final career change, because I need to make up for lost time.
What else can I say? My neice Ella Rose is the love of my life as well. The most beautiful girl I can spoil and give back to my sister. Bryan Robert my nephew is a soccer star and sweet boy, son of Robert Grundy, maybe some of you know him.
