Life After graduating from HS and spending two years in Durango, CO working three jobs, going to school, and trying to support myself, I gave in and moved to Denver. My first real job was for a geological consulting firm and over the next 5 years, I worked my way up through the ranks and ended up as Bookkeeper and Assistant Office Manager. After being laid off during a company downsizing, I went into the oil and gas field and spent the next 4 years or so learning all I could in this very interesting environment and discovering that I really loved rocks! Must have been from all those years I spent wandering around in the Alabama Hills. I also had my first child and had to figure out how to juggle a job and a baby. Luckily for me, I had a boss in the oil and gas business who thought I was pretty good at my job, and when the oil bust began, he took me with him into the world of high finance.
