Shannon's Story
December 29, 2008
Well, my family and I hit the one year mark without mom. It seems like yesterday in one sense, but like a million years in another. It's 'funny' how the old saying is somewhat true--time has a way of healing things. True only to the extent that it makes you deal with the here and now. We are not healed, nor will we ever be. But, we just learn how to deal with her passing in a different way each and every day. I miss her now more than ever. My little boy lost his "MIMI", a person whom he loved more than life itself. We have grown a lot over the last year as a family and mom gave us some pretty big footprints to follow.
Wishing all my friends...new, old and long lost a very safe and prosperous holiday season. May you strive for a better life in 2009. Hoping to reconnect with long ago friends this year. Drop me a line because I'd love to chat.

A year ago, no one would have thought our life would have changed so dramatically. My mom...Expand for more
was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer and passed away on December 23, 2007. My family and I are doing quite well even though she is gone. I have started back to work as a Head Start Home Visitor and it is going pretty good. My son is now 6 and in the first grade. He is very active in soccer and now boy scouts. He and his dad have a good time together doing the activities. I would love to hear from all my old friends. Drop me a line sometime, even if it is just to chat!! There is a lot more, but I will save it for later. You can also look me up on MYSPACE... looking forward to hearing from everyone... or maybe try the hot mail thing and look for shannonb99
After a 4 year stint as a Math and Social Studies Teacher at New Bedford Academy in Lambertville, MI, I took some time off to be a full-time Mommie to my 2 year old son. I married Marc Brancheau (Class of '90, Milan High School) in '99. I can't wait to hear from old friends with whom I have lost contact with.
