Sharalyn's Story
I'm an old parochial school student who went to Bethel Lutheran School in Westmont for grades 1 through 8. Then off to Downers Grove North High were I graduated a year early in 1970. I was supposed to be class of 1971 but I skipped a year and the high school skipped publishing my Senior pic in either year book too! What a bummer!
I headed off to the West Coast after graduation to attend college and realize my dream of being a hippie. I settled in Seattle, Washington and stayed there almost 20 years.
Gosh! I could write a book if I were to detail where I've been and what I've done over all these years! To make a long story short, I have been married and divorced twice and I have 3 great kids born in 1978, 1980 and 1989. I eventually got a Bachelor's degree and a Master of Science. I have been living in NE Alabama since 1995. I still don't fully understand how I got here as I never had a desire to even visit the Deep South. All I can say is: Have you ever heard the story about Jonah and The Whale? Well, one day I got swallowed up and transported far, far away from my home. When I came to my senses and realized where I was, I discovered that I had stepped into some kind of a worm hole, going backwards in time and space. I was now living in Ala-bama-rama-lama-land! The home of the Redneck Extraordinaire!
I've been trying to get back Up Nawth ever since but I just can't figure out which direction Up Yonder is. The locals tell me it's past the BIG ROCK, where the old Win Dixie used to be.
