VERY SADLY, SHARON PELLETIER PASSED AWAY ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2014 after a 2 year battle with STAGE 4 LUNG CANCER :( Mom was an angel who spent her entire life selflessly helping others! Written in May, 2014 I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. After high school I went to St. Luke's school of nursing and graduated in 1967. I worked in labor and delivery for 3 years. in 1968 I married Bob Smagacz from Voke. We had 2 kids: Peter, in 1971 and Jeni in 1973. We lived in Marion till 1987. Bob and I divorced in 1986 (having been separated since 1980). I moved to Fairhaven in 1987. Lost my mom the same year after having cared for her for 2 years with lung cancer. Had lost my Dad to a heart attack in 1982 at age 56. Way too young. Pete lived with his Dad awhile while he went to Voke. Jeni went to Fairhaven high. Pete went on to New England Tech and got two associate degrees...auto repair and auto body. Jeni went to cape cod regional college and studied theater, Then went on to Bristol to study Psychology. She was in miss new Bedford pageant and others and was 1st runner up to Miss Freetown. I worked as a nursing home supervisor for a couple of years, but ol' St. Luke's called me back! In 1997, I gave myself a 50th birthday present and moved to St. Petersburg, FL. the kidsand I each had our own apartments in St. Pete.
