Sharlee's Story
Life
Sharlee Mullins Glenn grew up on a farm in Arcadia, Utah. She attended Myton Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High, and Union High School before moving with her family to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1978. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1979, then attended Brigham Young University for several years before serving an LDS mission to Milan, Italy. After returning from her mission, she resumed her studies at BYU. In May of 1984, Sharlee married James D. Glenn III in the Salt Lake Temple. She graduated summa cum laude from BYU with a B.A. in Humanities/English/Art History in 1985 and entered graduate school that fall. on a part-time basis for the Honors Department at BYU. She taught at BYU for the next eight years before deciding to leave academia and focus on her writing career. Sharlee has published short stories, articles, and poetry for adults, but her true love is writing for children. In 1998, she published her first children's book, a young adult novel entitled "Circle Dance" (Bookcraft, 1998). Since then, she has published two more books: "One in a Billion" (Horizon, 2002) and "Keeping Up with Roo" (G. P. Putnam's Sons, 2004). Another book, "Just What Mama Needs" will be released by Putnam in 2006. Sharlee currently lives in Pleasant Grove, Utah with her husband, James, and their five children.
