Sharon Barron's Story
Life
We have just moved from Gulf Shores, Alabama back to Andalusia, Alabama. I married Jimmy Lanier and moved to Andalusia, Alabama in 1968. We had two sons, Matthew and John. We now have 2 grandsons and 3 granddaughters.
Jimmy and I have been married and sweethearts all these years. We have a good life because we have each other. Jimmy retired from the State of Alabama in 1995. I have worked in years past with the Andalusia City Board of Education. I retired when Jimmy retired. We now work for our son and daughter in law. It makes life an adventure. I hadn't worked in 10 years when I went to work for our son. He married and now I also work for his wife who is a dentist. I keep their books & payroll. My grandsons, Mckenzie and Matthew Jr. live with us now. Their dad and my son, Matthew was lost in 2000. We miss him still. They are the joy that makes me smile. Life has been good to us. We thank our Lord for His everlasting love and the blessings we've had.

st effectual life changing experience for me was John Yost, the choral teacher. His time and effort helped inspire my future life challenges and made life much fuller for me. I have always had music and voice in my life. He did this for me. Thanks, Mr. Yost.
I have directed adult choir in church, produced dramas with a cast of over a 100, and always loved performing solo's on many occassions.
If I could do it all over again. I would count my blessings more. I had a wonderful school, teachers, friends, and a small family atmosphere at Turkey Creek High School. We were truly blessed. I would love to have another school reunion. I miss everyone.
UPDATE
We are retired now. Life is still great! JImmy does help out our son with his Deer Farm. I love doing only what I want to do.....lol. Our grandsons are with their mother now and doing well. Growing up too fast for sure. My grandchildren are my "joys that make me smile" each day. I'm on facebook as SweetNannie Lanier or Sharon Barron-Lanier. You'll find lots of pics and updates there.
