Sharon's Story
My passion is mentoring youth/families and giving them encouragement, support while teaching them to be responsible and act responsibly.
I believe that it does take the parent(s), family, friends and the community to raise our children.
One of my goals is to have a comprehensive program to provide women and their families the resources they need to address the issues that hinder their children's mental and physical and spiritual growth. In order for our children to be able to enjoy what our country has to offer we must prepare them by giving the a good foundation, a good education and surround them with positive women and men who will teach, and help mold them into the good citizens and leaders of tomorrow.
I am attending Tiffin University online MSCJ program studying criminal behavior. Although it's hard I'm enjoying the learning environment.
Right now I have 5 classes to complete after this semester is complete. It feels very satisfying especially after starting college late.
I've always been facinated with the criminal...Expand for more
justice system and I know now it's because my grandfather was a famous police officer in Chicago. He is credited with cleaning up his beat which was the south side.
After I began working with the young males my longing to pursue a degree was born. As an advocate/supervisor I had the opportunity to work with social workers, teachers, probation officers, school officials and the court for the purpose of helping them have a stable environment. They could then pursue their goals and dreams while living past others expectations.
I also want to provide a place for pregnant teenagers to get help, advice, counseling, and medical attention. Also, women who are single, divorced, widowed, need legal, financial, and health advice and don't have very manner options. The ultimate goal would be to put a cast not a bandaid on the fractured family. Make the services on a sliding fee scale so that every women regardless of income can get help if they want it.
I graduated from Tiffin University May 1, 2010 with a MS in CJ/Criminal Behavior.
