Sharon's Story
I have had a long career in the graphic arts field, working out of my home as a freelancer. I was trained as an Advertising Artist, and worked at a typesetter for many years before the Macs and PC's were invented, and then worked for several years at the College of DuPage in the Production Services Department working in prepress. From there I worked as a Copy Center Manager for many years at a large corporation. Presently i work for DeVry University where I am a financial planner.
For those of you who know me, I played trumpet in the band, and I am happy to say that I still play today. I am a member of the Salvation Army Citadel Band in Norridge, Illinois. ecently toured Toronto, Canada. I am also a soldier in the Salvation Army, and our band witnesses all around the world the message of Christ.
I live alone with two cats, and enjoy doing charcoal portraits of people, pets and children from photos. I love old black and white movies, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith Show, Bob Newhart and the Mary Tyler Moore show. I am also a thrift store junkie, and love getting great deals of cool stuff and selling them on eBay for a profit.
All my family has passed away, except for my sister Sandy, who is married and is a retired police officer. She still lives in Illinois.
My best friend is still Joy (Mailina) Ausec, who also graduated in 1974. We talk at least every other day by phone and I spend most holidays with her and her husband and kids.
