Sharon's Story
Ok, I went to P.S. 81 in Riverdale, Hunter College High School, Barnard College. Got an MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work and a Ph.D. in clinical social work from N.Y.U. Also had psychoanalytic training, and training in child/adolescent treatment, and eating disorders.
I live in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, just around 15 minutes from P.S. 81. I'm married, have a son and two delicious grandsons, actually living within walking distance-- a grandparent's dream. I am very fortunate.

turned me into a scholar, and that has not changed. I published a book in 2000, When the Body Is the Target: Self-Harm, Pain, and Traumatic Attachments, which grew out f my doctoral dissertation.It is about people who inflict harm on themselves through self-injury, eating disorders, and even compulsively having their bodies tattooed or pierced. I've done a lot of fiber art-- weaving, knitting, crochet, needlepoint too.
