Sharon's Story

Life I live in Sioux Falls with my husband Warren and our youngest daughter Kali who just turned 13. Warren, Kali and I are active paricipants and Baptized members at Faith Family Church and Outreach in Sioux Falls. Being part of a church focused on sharing the gospel as well as having a very strong youth ministry is exciting! Warren and I were part of the Christmas Program in our church. If you have an opportunity to attend one of the three performances please do - take your family and enjoy a wonderful professional grade program! Our older children all live in Sioux Falls. Our oldest son Eric is married to Heather (Reich). Sara is currently attending USD and working on two degrees. She is working on a BS in Psychology and a BS in Social Sciences - She currently holds 3 Associate degrees from NAU (Licensed message therapist, business adminstration, and accounting). She is engaged to John Cady. Sara and John gave us our first granddaughter Thanksgiving Day, 2007. She is grandma's girl! She is beautiful - has the most beautiful blue eyes! Adam, our youngest son is currently dating Heather Seargent. He chose not to pursue further education after graduating from H.S. That may be changing soon because he has issues with discs in his back. Warren and I have been married for almost 27 years. We have gone through a lot together - as in our vows through the good times and the bad times commit for life. Warren is the love of my life and a God-fearing man. I am so blessed! He currently works for Cross Country Corriers. Last year my mom sold her house and is currently living in the Franken Manor. We used to make frequent t...Expand for more
rips to NW Iowa to visit Mom but as the costs of living go up, we do much less driving. I was recently diagnosed with Systemic Scleroderma - an arthritis associated with the auto-immune system. In 2001 I had a partial total knee replacement followed by menningitis which also infected my heart leaving me with cardio-myopathy. In 2004 I had both knees totally replaced. Since then I had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, elbow surgery, and last summer a left total hip replacement. A week following my hip replacement I had a pulmonary embolism and struggled to regain health. During the 4 months between hips I saw a number of specialists.I had an angiogram done and found out my heart was working at 35%. I was put on an additional medication. I was finally cleared to have the right hip replaced mid-December. The only specialist left to see was the Rheumatologist and couldn't get in until February. As far as I was concerned I thought the worst diagnosis I could receive was behind me. I had the surgery and again experienced complications which required another surgery on the new hip. Little did I know that the Rheumatologist would be the person delivering the dreaded diagnosis that explained all of the health issues I had been dealing with. I am still learning about the disease. It would be good to hear from past classmates. Here I say write to me but the hours are few and far between that I have time to put out emails. My prayer for each and every one of you is that you know Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and that your walk with Him grows deeper and more intimate by the day. God Bless you and your family!
