Sharon's Story

Life Graduated UWO May 1980 (Administrative Studies). Married Dec 1980 in Ottawa. Worked for Head Office of a bank. Moved to Banff - worked for the School of Fine Arts - learned to ski! - Moved to Riyadh - Eric worked for a Saudi company I worked for American Joint Economic Commission (Ministry of Transportation). Daughter Chloe born Feb 1984, son Paul born Sept 1985 - Moved to Aylmer, Qc and stayed home with babies for awhile. Worked for Grace General Hospital (Nursing Dept) - took courses in medical records from Algonquin College but never graduated - husband moved to Lexington Mass with the kids - I followed 3 months later - couldn't work in the states...Expand for more
- I did volunteer work with the Library - Left him in Sept 1990 and moved with the kids to the Okanagan Valley in BC - worked for a Waste Disposal Co for awhile got laid off - worked as a waitress in a fish & chips restaurant - won a typing contest (100 wpm) and a trip to Vancouver and then got hired by a real estate company - Found my passion in 1993 working with the local transition house (shelter for battered women and their children) first on their Board of Directors and then as admin staff. Remarried in 1996 and daughter Shauna born 1997. Didn't play the flute for 20 years but found a flute choir last year and I love it! Terry and I love to camp (tent).
