Sharon's Story
Life
After graduation, I went to college at Southwest Texas which is where I met my husband, Rusty, in 1987. He joined the Marine Corps to become a pilot, so when we married in 1990, we moved to one of the many wonderful locales the Marine Corps offers.
Starting in 1990 we lived in Corpus Christi, TX, Beeville, TX, across the country to Cherry Point, NC(as that is where the Harrier AV8B guys are trained), back across to Yuma, AZ, from the Low Desert to the High Desert and 29 Palms, CA and finally to Kingsville, TX in 1997. For any of you counting, that is 6 moves in 7 years. We left the Military life in 1999, when Rusty began to fly for a 'major' airline . We have been in the Fort Worth area for 2 years.
During all those moves we also managed to have 2 sons. Chase is 10 yrs old and was born in Houston while Rusty was in Japan during one of his 6 month deployments. For our next son God decided that Rusty could be there for the birth -- Shane was born on the Marine Corps Base in 29 Palms and is 7 yrs. old.
I went to SWT to become a teacher, a High School Biology/English teacher ( no laughing please! ) Since we moved so much and then had munchkins, I haven't been able to practice my ...Expand for more
craft. For now I work in the office of the PreSchool at our Church two days a week -- other than that, I am a stay-at-home Mom. I am active in our church and with the boys baseball teams.
I know some of y'all are fallin' out of your computer chair laughing.
My other passion is Rubber Stamping! I am a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I teach classes at the Hostess' home on the art of rubber stamping -- on cards, gift wrap, gifts, home decor and fabrics.
The 10 year Reunion was very enlightening. I can't wait for the 20 year Reunion! Should be interesting. Hope to see y'all there.
Latest Update: Rusty joined the USMC Reserves in Dec of 2003 and is currently serving our country on a 7 month deployment to Iraq.
Rusty is home safe!
July 2005 Update: Was great to see everyone at the 20 year mark!! And for those of you who didn't show up -- where the heck were ya? We missed you.
Chase and Shane are now 11.5 and 8. Rusty left the 'major airline' and now flies for a major 'box carrier'. Although I still get to stamp every now and then, I am now a Sales Consultant for Budget Blinds of Keller. Very good friends of ours own the franchise and finally talked me into working for them.
