Sharon's Story

Life When I graduated from Long Beach State, I thought that I would spend all of my working life in a hospital laboratory. However, things change and I went to work for a diagnostic company, which has lead to traveling around the world to teach people how to do bacteriology work (and use my company's instrument and software to do it, of course.) That has been a wonderful experience since I've got to see countries that may not be high on the list for a tourist attraction (and have people that are very happy to show me their country). I also thought that I'd always live in So. Cal, particularly either Garden Grove or Long Beach. Not too much of a change - I stayed in Cal but live in Fol...Expand for more

I now have 3 beautiful grandchildren that I love to have over for visits, although it is hard to believe that my children are old enough to have kids (seems like they should still be 6 and 10, not have kids close to that age). I'm looking forward to being able to retire soon and enjoy just being home. Well, it is now Dec 2006 and I have been "retired" since Jan. I enjoy being home and being able to see my grandchildren (which now number 5 and 1 on the way) more often, especially seeing the very young ones grow. I do miss the travel associated with my old job and visiting the friends that I made all over the world. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me now.
