Sharon's Story
Hi Everyone,
I left Toledo in April 1964 and went into the Army. (The WAC-it's a long story-don't ask.) l was stationed at Ft McClelland Alabama. I then went to lab school at Ft Sam Houston Texas. I was then sent to Womack Army Hospital on Ft Bragg North Carolina, to work in the laboratory.
At that post I met my future husband. We were married, moved to NY where he
is from. He went into the restaurant business with his father. I had 2 kids, a boy and a girl and helped out in the business.
Four years later the marriage broke up and I proceeded to go back into lab work in a very large hospital in the Bronx, NY. I went to school at night, for Business and Sociology.
I then did medical sales for 8 years for a couple of different companies selling in the Bronx, Philadelphia, New Jersey,...Expand for more
Delaware, and part of Maryland.
I, then changed careers again, going into vocational/employment counseling working with welfare clients and now the unemployed. As you can imagine, we are very busy.
I hope to work another 5 years if agency funding lasts that long and I 'm healthy enough.
I have 5 grandchildren, 4 boys and a girl. Theie ages are 11,9,9 6,3.
My interests include gardening yoga and pilates, movies.
I love being by the shore. I would love to travel someday.
There are times I long to return to the midwest. I proudly tell people, I am from Ohio. I have lost contact with everyone. I have a girlfriend who keeps in touch with people she went to grade school with. That is difficult when you move a lot. I would love to hear what happened to folks. This is why I signed up.
