Sharon's Story
I married my senior year steady, Juanetta Hedrick's cousin Wayne Matheny in March of 74. We lived in N.K.C. for a short time then moved back to Liberty for a few years. Since then we have lived off North Brighton in 3 different houses guess we like the area. Actually the children liked the schools. We have 2 sons, Jeff 25, Gary 18 and our daughter Heather who is 16. Yeah we started having them late what can I say! We have 4 grandchildren Julian 8 and Sophia 5 who are step and Vicente' 3 and Alando who will be 2 this month that are our oldest sons. We figure we will have at least a few more after the other two finish high school and college. We spend a lot of our time at the Veterans Administration as Wayne is a Vietnam Veteran. He had just come hom...Expand for more
e when we met and we are still fighting to get him service connected after all these years. We are here or running teenagers around most of the time unless of course I am at the club or a meeting!! Back in high school my big dream was to become an artist and now my daughter could sure show me a thing or two about drawing. I am horrible about remembering names so if you remember me just jog my memory and I am sure I will remember you too!
A lot has happened since I wrote this five years ago. Our children have all graduated from Winnetonka High School and are finding their paths. Also on September 1,2012 we lost my husband Wayne and he was buried in the Military Cemetery in Higgensville , MO. I am now trying to find my way without him by my side and it is a lot harder then I would have ever imagined. Hold your loved ones tight we don't know just when they might not be there anymore.
