ogram of Krueger M.S. this year, has given over 100 students the chance to acquire healthy vocal technique & music literacy in an atmosphere that fosters positive self-worth, responsibility, habits of self-discipline and personal tenacity through aesthetic enjoyment. As an active member of of the Texas Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and Parent Teacher Asscociation students are led in competitive events and Mr. Sharpley serves as judge, tabulator and monitor at local competitions. Under his guidance, shy students perform solos, laid-back students become leaders and individual students learn the value of working together as a team. In order to motivate his students and involve them in service to the broader community, Mr. Sharpley organizes teams within his student choral program. There is a team to train future leaders, another to promote mediation to resolve conflicts, and still another to organize students mentoring other students. He takes choirs to perform in local venues such as other schools, churches and assisted living centers. Recalling his own experience exploring music, Sharpley says, "I like to help students along their journey toward exemplary and honorable musicianship. I strive to be fair, nurturing and develop young musicians to their highest potential in the short period of time they are in my classroom." Mr. Sharpley is active in a local presbyterian church where he is an elder and has been a Sunday school teacher. Currently he directs the Northwood Men's Chorus +1, sings in the Chancel Choir, plays in the Bells Angels Bell Choir, participates in mission trips in the United States, Mexico and abroad, volunteers with Christian Based Community Ministries, the SAMM Shelter, and Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Sharpley is an avid cyclist logging over 4000 miles a year and is currently in training for a 100 Miler with a group of riders from the San Antonio Wheelmen, Bike City Chain Reaction and Cycle Logic Bike Shop
