Shawn's Story
After graduating and leaving Waggener in 1991, I went on to U of L for two years then decided I wasn't exactly sure if the program I entered was what I wanted to do. I then left college for a couple of years. During that time I met someone and decided to get married. I then returned to college to pursue a degree in Nursing, graduating in June 1996. My husband took a job in Columbus, Indiana so we relocated & the boy's and I still remain. In October 1996 my first Son, Jalen was born. I was blessed with the opportunity to be a stay at home mom and be with him so my nursing career went on hold. March 1999, we were blessed with another Son, Jaren and my third So...Expand for more
n, Jaden came along in May 2002. In 2006 my husband and I decided to divorce and since my kids were in school fulltime I returned to nursing fulltime working in the Wellness Center at Camp Atterbury Job Corps Center. November 2007 was rough for us. We had a house fire and nearly 90% of our house and belongings were destroyed. Fortunately we had insurance and we live in a great community. We were able to rebuild the house and move back into our home in April 2008. Finally things are getting back to normal which include running 3 boys back & forth to their many sports on a daily basis. It's wonderful and I am truly blessed to be a Mom to such special babies.
