Shawn's Story

Mrs. Shawn A. Taylor-Lemieux was educated through the New Orleans Parish Public School System. Before the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe, Mrs. Lemieux was the President & CEO of Cornerstone Income Tax & Accounting Services, LLC. Her key role was developing and implementing the overall Cornerstone Income Tax & Accounting Services¿ sales and marketing strategy of its accounting products and services. Over her 20-year career, she has provided marketing, sales, professional services and consulting leadership in the technology, marketing and accounting industries. Mrs. Lemieux holds a Masters in Public Administration from Troy State University with a concentration in Management Information Systems; Bachelors in Business Administration from Southern University at New Orleans. She is certified in ¿Family Wellness¿ Marriage Education Curriculum and has completed a Project Management Professional program Currently, Mrs. Lemieux is contracted by Lutheran Social Services in its Twogether In Texas Healthy Marriage Program and also, Co-Founder of The Lemieux Group, which is a Business Development Organization that assist Fortune 500 companies with transitioning their products and services over the Internet. In addition to her work with Lutheran Social Services and The Lemieux Group, Mrs. Lemieux serves on the following boards, commissions, and councils: Austin Area Urban League¿s Young Professionals, Community Council of the Community Action Network (CAN), and Alpha Kappa Sigma, Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc. in Area Urban League¿s Gulf Coast Employment Initiative Program, Community Action Development Assistance (C.A.D.A)¿s Louisiana Front Porch and Austin Walkers and Talkers initiatives and was appointed by the City Council to the Minority Business Enterprise/Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) and Small Business Advisory Committee. Her dedication to excellence has earned a ¿Proclamation from City of Austin for ¿Dedicated and Outstanding Community Service¿ during Hurricane Relief efforts and a ¿Heroes In The Fight¿ Nominee 2006 for fighting for better mental health in the community. She was featured in the Mental Health Association in Texas ¿s publication, ¿The Advocate¿; The Austin American Statesman, Austin Chronicle and several television station interviews to address concerns about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the unmet needs amongst the hurricane survivor population effected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. She has worked as a campaign strategist/Chair for several political candidates as well as an instructor with the University of Phoenix ¿Louisiana and Austin Campuses She is married to Mr. Kevin Daniel Lemieux, who is a Certified Project Manager and Instructor with Consulting Solutions.Net and the University of Phoenix-Austin Campus, where he facilitates project management and technology courses. He holds a Masters and Bachelors in Computer Information Systems from Southern University at New Orleans; He holds several certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), A+, Net+; He is a Veteran,US Army Intelligence.
