Rick's Story
Well it's 2022 and we pulled up stakes in the Great Pacific Northwest. Sold the place in the Seattle area and moved to the desert. As Sheila and I aged the "golden years" became the "achy years". It was painful in the joints during the winter. We don't get to see the family as much as we did but a 2-1/2hr plane ride isn't to bad. So it's She-She, myself, Addie(Golden Retriever) and Cupid(B/W English Springer Spaniel) on the go in Palm Desert. We try to stay positive, fit and healthy by golfing and making our tri-weekly run to Costco and buying a few goodies. We were walking with the dogs in the early AM but the heat now doesn't allow us to do this for the next couple of months. I look forward to seeing my fellow classmates in August at our 60th reunion. OMG, did you ever think we would be able to do this 60 years ago? I believe our Higher Power has blessed Sheila and I with very good health. While I may be short on wisdom, at times, I was given the ability to think for myself. I am a blessed man who has met some of the nicest people one could find on this Earth.
Life
Well, here it is , late 2009!! OMG, the time flies by. It is Holiday Time, and I want to wish anyone who reads this, a Very Happy Thanksgiving, and a Very Merry Christmas.
Sheila and I have been blessed with a very beautiful family. We are fortunate to have good health and are able to play with our grandchildren, Hailey and Caden, twin's of Cara. They will be 4 yrs. old in January, 2010, and it really does make us think young. Keeping up with the two of them, and all of the family drama associated with, keeps us going.
Trisha, twin sister of Cara, is also a joy. S...Expand for more
he, like her Mom, is very grounded. A beautiful child, who loves her English Springer Spaniels, and her Orthopedic RN job. We, She-She and I are just blessed, to have them all in our lives.
I posted the picture of Captain Hook, Sheila, Caden and Myself, which was taken 11/19/09. We were celebrating She-She's 60th B-Day at Disneyland. OMG, does it get any better than, spending time at the happiest place in the world(well maybe a golf course). I always enjoy these trips, and with our girl's it kept us young at 40-50. Now, at 65, it is unbelievable how you can be 14yrs old again!! I find I just don't stay up as late as I used too.
Anyhow, this note is to give you some insight into our family. I hope all of you, who read this, are happy and enjoying some sort of good health. If not, please think positively, and smile!!
My Love and Prayers to all of you.

Who would have 'thunk', that grandchildren would light up one's life, like ours have done to Sheila and myself. We always heard about the joy of grandchildren, but it was nothing like experiencing the 'real deal'. They are now 15 months old, and everyday, there is this feeling of fulfillment.
As we get closer to 70, 80, and even 90, I cannot imagine a clearer purpose, than being able to aid and watch your family grow. The pleasure in watching our children become adults and parents, is just an awesome wonder.
I value all of the friendships, I have made over my life. Although I may not see or talk to the people I met during my lifetime, I wish them all the best.
Please email me at through classmates.com. It would be a pleasure to 'talk' to you.
