Sheila's Story
I went to West 1968-1970. I was in 11th grade when I droped out. I was not real populat in high school but then again I was never in school long enough to make many friends. A friend and I decided to drop out together. Strange concept double drop out plan. Well I then graduated from Cosmetolgy College by the time I would have graduated from high school(Minneapolis Beauty College. I styled hair for 30 years. I raised one daughter(Rachel).
In high school like alot of my friends I got involved with drugs just experimenting at first but by the time I was 32 it was fullblown addiction. In 1983 I went through treatment at Abott NW Treatment Program. It totally changed my life. In 1987 I gave my heart to the Lord. Now to some of you that may sound strange I know because that is how I use to think about the idea. But I was never a complete person until I made Jesus apart of my life. use it is something you have to personally experience to understand. All I know is that in this life time and into eternity I will never be alone again. I just asked Jesus to come into my life and take away my sins and then I gave the rest of my life to him. I am married now for 19 years. He is also a christian with simular experinces as mine. We have a Ministry to Native American people in South Minneapolis. I recently earned a AS Degree in Chemical Dependency and am going to college for a bachelors degree in psychology. I am about half way finished. Then I will go for a masters and Dr. I share my story to encourage others. If God can change my life he can change anyones. I know someone out there who reads this might be struggling. I would encourage you to confess your sins and give your heart to the Lord. Find a good church to go to. Even when we get off on the wrong path God can lead us down the right one.
