Gem Guite Marston & I recently did a Meriden thing; Thompson's Candy, Tomie dePaola's "26 Fairmount Avenue", Gallery 53 (at 53 Colony St), and lunch at K LaMay's, followed by a visit to the Meriden Public Library. I was so excited to look at the old Jefferson Journals, then in the "Historical Room" to view everything I could possibly view in the time we had. So, for Christmas, I asked my daughters for the "History of Meriden" (where I lived from 1950 to 1960) and the "History of Walling...Expand for more
ford" (where I lived from 1942 to 1950). The best Christmas Gifts ever!!! I finished Wallingford this morning, and will go through Meriden tomorrow or Wednesday. If you don't have Meriden, I highly recommend getting it. They are wonderful books depicting days gone by. If you don't remember the places depicted, and your family is from Meriden, you will see what they saw back in "their day". Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Classmates.
