I was a psych tech and full time therapist at the VAMC in Seattle, while I worked at Swedish Hospital as a family therapist on the private, residential chemical dependency unit on the weekends.
I transferred to the VAMC in Roseburg Oregon in September of 1993, where I worked as a full time therapist on the dual diagnosis unit until February of 1998 when I retired from the VAMC and moved to Idaho.
I followed my husband to his new career in Ontario Oregon (beginning his 26th year 2023), traveled Europe for 3 weeks, bought the house we still live in, had our daughter and returned to work in Oct. of 2006 when our daughter was in 1st grade.
I was hired by The Family Place, Inc (Ontario OR) as a part time Master Level Therapist and due to a set of unexpected circumstances became Executive Director on May 1, 2008. I renamed the small, outpatient, non profit, Mental Health and Community Outreach Facility, TFP Therapetic Services, Inc soon after I took over. I have 10 employees (only 4 full time) and we proudly serve 3 Counties in Idaho and 4 Counties in Oregon. We have a fundraiser every year so we can see Veterans and their Families pro b...Expand for more
ono. May 13, 2023 is our next one.
I met my husband, a Navy Veteran, while he was working at the VAMC in Roseburg. We married in December of 1995. We just celebrated our 29th year together and our 27th wedding anniversary. We have one daughter who is 23, an RN at a pediatric, appt based clinic in Boise. She will marry this year.
My husband and I like to travel and are fulfilling our goal of seeing all the states (we have 14 left), we have visited Canada, Mexico and most the countries in Northern Europe. I have visited the UK and Ireland and our next overseas goal is the Viking Countries of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland the Netherlands.
My biggest goal over the next few months is planning my daughter's wedding. I love to listen to forensic podcasts namely, MrBallen and scary stories, Full Body Chills. TV shows include Big Bang Theory, Schitts Creek and Ghosts. All the Yellowstone, The Last of Us, The Boys and Tulsa King are fun. When it comes to music, I'm still loving the 80's.
My brother, Eric, passed in 2008. Some of you knew him as he did attend high school with
us. I still miss him terribly. If any of you have any fond memories of him you would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it.
