Shelley's Story
Life
Let's see - I started my education career at E.A. Orr Public School ... which has since been torn down and turned into a senior's residence. I skipped grade 5, went through a torturous grade 6, and in grade 7 I moved to Brookdale Public School. In grade 9, I went to high school at T.A. Blakelock. I graduated spring of 1988, but went back to TAB in the fall of 1988 for one more semester, to improve a couple of grades. I worked from January '88 until I started university in the fall of 1989. I attended McMaster University from 1989 to 1994. I began with the intention of getting a B.Sc in Biology, but switched my major to Psychology half-way through. couple years younger then me, and was still in high school at Queen Elizabeth Park when we started dating. He also attended McMaster after graduating high school, and we enjoyed commuting to university together each day. I graduated in 1994, having turned a four-year degree into a five-year degree; Ian graduated a year later, in 1995 and we were married that summer. We now live in Burlington, Ontario and we have two boys: one was born in July 1999 and the other in December 2002. After the birth of our second son, I did not return to my full-time job, and I am now self-employed and working from home as a Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson. Ian works out of Toronto as a Marketing Research Manager.
