Shelli's Story
Life
After graduation I attended Fresno City College. After getting my A.A. degree there I started nursing school at FSU but transferred to the Univ. of Kansas - where I not only graduated but also met my husband John. We've been married now for almost 25 years.
We've had some interesting times, including almost 15 years active duty Air Force. We lived in Texas for 7 years and Okinawa, Japan for over 4 years. We traveled Asia pretty extensively while there and have been to a number of other places since. We currently live in Lynn Haven - near Panama City, Florida. He is on a military leave of absence from Delta airlines while he finishes his active duty commitment with the Florida Guard - less than two months to go!
We have two daughters, now ages 21 (Lauren - a Senior at UF - go Gators!) and 18 (Caitlyn - a Senior in HS). They are great girls. Lauren belongs Alpha Chi Omega and really loves it. After four changes of major, she has settled on Business Administration - Managemen...Expand for more
t and plans to go on to graduate school. Caitlyn is a former cheerleader, a member of a dance company and an honor student. She will attend UF like her sister and plans to major in architecture
I've been the Clinical Resource Manager at a local hospital for over three years now and plan to "retire" in just one more week - but who's counting! I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis about a year ago but am doing very well. I take medication daily to (hopefully) stop the disease progression. I am learning how to kitesurf and am looking forward to our anniversary trip down to the Keys and back later this year. I plan to get back to drawing and painting as soon as I can.
We spend every minute we can on our "condo on the beach" - Shell's Island. We love it here in the Panhandle - everything but the hurricanes! Look us up if you're ever out this way! We're in the book.
