Shelly's Story
I never thought I would be amoung the remembered crowd. It amazes me the classmates I have run into over the years who not only remember me, but with such details of events I myself do not remember. I played trumpet in the band, but my true love intrument was my old battered guitar. One of our classmates I ran into said she rememberd me playing guitar in the cafeteria during lunch at Craig Junior High (we all called it Craig Penitentury) because none of the windows opened. She said the song she remembered me playing the most was "Cowgirl in the Sand", by Neil Young. WoW!! I felt horrible for not remembering her name, but I did remember her. mber partying at the Indian Lake Beach, then you may remember there were several talanted musicans who frequented the beach with their musical talents. Man... I miss those days of music. The requests went like this...if u could hum it, we could play it. We even had back up singers for the harmoney, and an occassional harmonica player. We never knew what would come next, just that we loved to play by the fire and sing/ our songs, sounds of friends enjoying the evening with friends. For me these are very special memories. Maybe we should have an Indian Lake Beach Party Reunion. Not just with the fire and the music but, the weekend long volleyball games we all played in the sand as well as softball games at the Indian Lake Park. Well who knows, except those were great times!!
