Sheri's Story

Life I am blessed with great work and wonderful places to live. I have traveled to many areas of the globe and done a million things since those Sabercat days..we all have been right where we are suppose to be and along the way I have been reconnecting with old friends that are dear to me. I really do not have any regrets for it all has been part of the journey to create the path that I am on and I hope the same for you. We are starting the best part of our lives the second half of the century if you will and how we approach it will determine our own manifest destiny. You are going to be however old you will be anyway so I say "Carpe Diem" and live not exist in your life. It will be interesting to see where we all are at the next reunion in this path. Probably some of the most vivid memories I have from high school would be as a Matmaid, a member of Zeta Famma Phi, student council, praying for the one of our dear cheerleaders that perished in a snowstorm with her family, scenes from Vietnam, the death of my Father, starting college at 17 years of age, joining the US Army at 18, drag racing in my Yellow 67 Convertible Mustang, digging dirt/sand out of my convertible after duststorms, getting into trouble the only time I ditched to go to the Verde River and learned never do that again, watch my Mother remarry, having my wisdom teeth out, getting engaged, getting unengaged, wrestling and gymnastic team trips, selling M & Ms to raise money and eating more than my share, watching our guys play at football games, Pom-Pom tryouts, wanting to save the world by pushing for recycling efforts, St. Luke's Ball, having to explain to my Mother how a golfball hit my neck and trying to remove the mark with toothpaste of all things (yes, I was very gullable then) and making it a permanent mark by accident (I never could get away with anything and by the ...Expand for more
way, thanks alot Dirk!), finding out that a rice and tomato juice diet for 3 days really does take off 10 lbs so you can fit in your size 7 prom dress, dances, finding out that some of your friends at school used abortion as birth control and being very disappointed in them, making wrong life decisions for myself, being on the Honor Roll and Dean's List, getting my first real job, realizing it must be hard to be a widowed Mom raising two girls with one of them being a little high maintenance like me, finding my sister vacuuming the toilet standing there naked saying "I was only going to see what it would do?" (she will get me for this one for I used this as blackmail for many years in high school since I was her babysitter), going to Williams AFB to visit my Dad's old squadron, going to Luke AFB to visit my buddies and go really drag racing, being picked up by a cool red and white corvette to go to school (you know who you are and some of you will remember who this is for it starts with an "R", water skiing and camping all summer every year each weekend at Saguaro Lake, tubing down the Verde and Salt Rivers but most of all I take each memory of the children that went with me to Mohave Elementary School and became young Men and Women that faced a very troubling time, similar to what our youth of today face for War is never easy and know that with GOD all things are possible. So, drop me a line and say hi. School My biggest crush will remain a secret but I will say that my favorite teacher was Mr. Hawkins (Science of course). Dragging on the strip over by the stadium in several different cars, Corvette, Javelin and Mustang to name a few, flirting with the guys at the track, going to the Verde River and St. Luke's Ball are some of my more fun memories... Hope to catch some of you on here or at the next reunion.. :-) UNTIL THEN CARPE DIEM!!!
