I lived in the project went to South West Street Elementary school in Windsor Locks, Connecticut from 1963. to 1965 for first and second grade. I believe Mrs Hershey was my 2nd. grade teacher. They were still practicing the "Duck and Cover." Wish they had told us we were not currently being threatened .I went to Union St. School in Windsor Locks, CT, repeating 2nd grade in 1965-1966 as I missed a lot of school and was so shy and quiet I did not read out loud very well. I remember one of my brother's friends name was Cecil (one of the boys who used to swing across the ravine on the Tarzan swing with us at the Knights of Columbus) and Joann Ryan. We moved to Vermont in 1966. I spent a few months of 3rd grade at St. Albans Bay Elementary. Then I was at Georgia Elementary beginning late October or early November 1966 in the 3rd grade. The teacher was really great. I was still very quiet and she had us put our desks together with another kid. Everyone said I was going to win the prize for the quietest at the end of the year. I did. This was my favorite school and I wish I could have stayed longer. I then moved to Milton where I was for the 1st half of the 4th grade 1967 before moving to St. Albans.
