Sherry's Story
Life
I bought a home in April 2005 in Elkton, MD. Cecil county moves at a much better pace than Harford county. I'm glad to be out of Havre de Grace. I could live a life of happiness if I NEVER had to set another foot inside that town again, but unfortunately with my family there iit isn't possible. I live with my fiance Jay whom I have been with since April 2001. We have a dog named Tressa. I don't care to bear children. We plan to set a date to marry sometime within the next 5 years, however marriage isn't really important, love is. Life didn't turn out to be what I thought it would. I was always so sure I was getting out of here, and the furthest I ever got was Delaware. Things could always be worse though, at least thats what I keep telling myself. School
I hated that school, and a majority of people in it. I'm pretty sure that feeling was mutual too. I'm just glad I've grown up since then. I definitely would not do it all over again,...Expand for more
even to do it different. One thing I learned was not to dwell on the past so I'm not going to go into details of how I was in high school.
Workplace
I work for the State of Maryland, specifically the Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA). The MdTA is responsible for the maintenance of the bridges, tunnels, toll facilities, and the JFK Mem. Hwy. from the Delaware line to the split in Baltimore County. I began my employment with the MdTA in April 2003. I started as an Auto Clerk responsible for the paperwork of the fleet vehicles (the big yellow dump trucks, pick ups, loaders, gradall, and police vehicles. I have since been promoted and I am a Shop Administrative Technician, in which in addition to the automotivce department responsibilities I am responsible for the payroll of the employees and accounts payable/receivable. Out of 58 employees based in our shop there are only 3 female employees including me, so its like having a lot of brothers and uncles that I never had growing up, but I love it.
