Life
Hello, all -
Well, I guess I should thank you for visiting this page to read what I've been up to.
After graduating from SSS, I went on to Carleton U in Ottawa for a year. Jen Mason was my roommate, and still remains one of my best friends! After my first year of Carleton, I decided to take a year off, during which time I managed an upscale children's clothing boutique. I returned to school, and graduated with a diploma in Accounting and Business Admin. I started my career immediately after graduation.
I got married in 1997, and moved to Hamilton in 1998 where I started working for a company called MANPOWER. In 1999, I moved to Kenya for 6 months, then returned to Sudbury and started working for the Sudbury MANPOWER office, where I remain today as a Senior Staffing Specialist. What does this mean? I work for fantastic people.
In 2000 a life-changing event happened; my daughter, Aaliyah, was born. She is the light of my life and I could not imagine life without her. My friends who know me well say Aaliyah is exactly like me - not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing! Either way, nothing makes me prouder than being her mommy.
My husband and I separated in July 2005, and are in the process of a divorce. Luckily it is very amicable and without drama.
Other than that, Aaliyah and I live in our little Sudbury home together, take part in community events, and she dances at Happiness is...Dancing during the school year and plays soccer during the summer. Apparently guitar lessons are to be added to her schedule. We get together with friends as often as we can, and Aaliyah loves my amazing group of friends from high school - Allie, Nicole, Jen, Kristen, Jenn, Debbie, Brad...
