Life I have truly gone where the "wind" has blown me in my life. After just one year of college at RMC the state of Montana granted me a waiver to teach due to an extreme teacher shortage. I began teaching on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Resevation. That began a cyle of teaching a year and going back to college for a year several times. Immediately after becoming fully qualified to teach, even though I had not planned to teach, I was hired to teach Navajo students in New Mexico. From there I moved to Albuquerque where I managed a tuxedo shop and substituted in the schools until I was hired to teach at Santo Domingo Pueblo where I stayed for 20 years. I retired at 57 years old after nearly 30 years of teaching. I had not planned to retire but discovered to my surprise that I had enough invested to do it and I was tired.
