Life
since birth? launched from norwalk to central jersey, cambridge, palo alto, berkeley,st. louis, chicago, atlanta, tokyo, bangkok, hongkong, philadelphia, jamaica, brooklyn, madrid, barcelona, harlem, morningside heights, oakland, pasadena, miami, ithaca, st. maarten, denver, savannah, back to berkeley, irvine, left ithaca in Aug 2006 to teach on a one-year graduate teaching fellowship in Nashville at Vanderbilt.
Still ABD, but I left to take an adult job as a college professor (acting as if).... While I didn't pick up any hunk-a-hunk-a-burning lovers down south, I didn't leave empty handed. At last, I respect country mus...Expand for more
ic and its cousins sincerely. Oh, and my impression of The Grand Ole Opry? Dallas on steroids!
So, Aug. 2007, I left Nashville to take a *salaried* tenure-track joint-appointment professorship at Gettysburg College. Did I mention the salary after countless years of pittance graduate stipends? Ugh.
So, I'm in rural Central PA. Surrounded by 150 year old history, and cooking up plans for the next big stage of my career. Teaching college-level material gives me pure joy; confiscating Blackberries from college-age students... oh, not so much.
Who knows what lies ahead for me next. I'm excited to find out!
