Simon's Story

Life Since leaving Cape John I went to trade school in Baie Verte and obtained my Welding Diploma. From there I ended up in a three year apprentice program with the Department of National Defence in Halifax, NS. That job ended in June of 1988. In July of 1988 I was involved in a major Motorcycle accident and was in critical condition for a few weeks. The result of that accident was three crushed vertibrae, some cracked ribs, a fractured ankle and a ruptured spleen, which was removed. This event happend just three and a half months before my wedding. I married my wife Karen in October of 1988 and we had our daughter in September of 1989. In April of 1990, we moved to Abbotsford, BC where I attended Bible College and recieved a four-year Bachelors degree in Theology. During this time we also had our son, born in 1993. During College years and for a few years after this I worked for a window company in Abbotsford and did all kinds of jobs from delivery driver to customer service. In 1996 we moved to Regina Saskatchewan so that my wife could attend college, however she didn't go that year but went to a different school the following year in Caronport, ...Expand for more
SK. In 1997 my wife began her studdies towards a Masters of Divinity, majoring in Marriage and Family Counselling and completed it in 2001. I also went back to school in 1998 and did a Masters of Divinity, majoring in Leadership and Management and also at the same time took a Master of Arts, majoring in Marriage and Family Counselling. I graduated with these degrees in 2002. Since this time we have been developing our own Counsellng practice (my wife more than I) and also have been working other jobs. Since being in Saskatchewan we have become grandparents, even though I am much too young for such an experience. The near future brings another new change and exciting adventure into our lives as we will be moving to China at the end of August, 2007 to teach English. This is a one-year venture, and if we like it we may continue on for a few years. Our son is coming along with us and is excited also for new life experineces. Our daughter prefers to stay in Canada. We will close down our counselling practice but will continue to work at developing our website and possible develop e-books and other items to sell. Our website is: mybestlifepossible.com.
